Scott Seiver Wins His Third Bracelet of the 2024 WSOP, Seizes Lead in the Player of the Year Race

The World Series of Poker Player of the Year Race is certainly heating up, with Scott Seiver seizing the lead after securing his third bracelet of the series…so far.

He won his seventh career WSOP bracelet and third of 2024 on Sunday evening, when he took down the $10,000 2-7 Triple Draw Championship, to add a further $411,041 to his net worth.

Seiver now sits on top of the leaderboard, however his lead is slender, considering he is the only player to have won more than one bracelet at the series. He leads Jeremy Ausmus by 3,757 points to 3,368.

The lead is less than 400 points, thanks to Ausmus’s remarkable consistency throughout the series, gracing no less than six final tables, despite not winning any of them.

Phil Ivey(4th) and Daniel Negreanu (6th) makes for an interesting old-school battle in the final part of the series, to see who comes out on top. Both have won events this year after long droughts, with GG Poker ambassador Negreanu taking down the $50,000 Players Championship event at the end of last week.

Sean Deeb has made the most cashes of any player, with 19 but sits just outside the top 10, as does Viktor Blom.

The WSOPE does not count towards this year’s POY race. Only the live bracelet events at the Horseshoe/Paris casinos plus the Online WSOP events in Nevada/New Jersey count and only one online event will be included.

Players must cash at least five times to get a place on the leaderboard.

Player of the Year Leaderboard After 72/99 Events Completed

With more than two third of the events now completed and the major focus of the rest of the series being the $10,000 Main Event, it would be surprising to see anyone outside the top 15 make the podium.

But then again, nobody expected Scott Seiver to win three bracelets and anything can still happen during the final two weeks of the WSOP.
