WPT Global Increases Guarantee to $8m for Summer Festival Online Poker Series

The WPT Global Summer Festival, set to run from July 28 to August 18, now promises more than $8 million in total guarantees across a diverse range of tournaments.

Summer Festival Guarantees Upped to $8m

When WPT Global first announced the Summer Festival it was indicated it would have $7m in prize pool guarantees. However now that the schedule for the online poker series has been confirmed, the total guarantees have been upped to $8m

Players in countries where WPT Global is accessible can look forward to a packed schedule with numerous opportunities to compete for significant prizes.

Several Main Events at the Summer Festival

The Summer Festival will feature several main events, each offering a substantial prize pool and the chance for players to make their mark on the poker world. These main events are online editions of World Poker Tour Championships, some of the most sought after titles in live poker:

The Opening Day of the WPT Global Summer Festival

The festival kicks off on July 28 with several different tournaments of varying buy-ins, ensuring that the series is as inclusive as possible for all tournament players on the site. The key events on this opening are:

$22 Mini Championship
Weekly trio of Slams: $110 Sunday Slam, $330 Grand Slam, $11 Mini Slam

Daily Tournaments During the Summer Festival

Throughout the festival, players can participate in a wide range of tournaments every day. The schedule includes various formats to keep the action exciting and dynamic, including NLHE, PLO, and Short Deck variants, available in several different formats such as deepstack, PKOs and turbos.

There are also satellites taking place daily feeding into the bigger buy-in events on the schedule. Buy-Ins start from $5.50

Summer Festival Freeroll

The Festival Freeroll is set for August 25 and offers a $75,000 prize pool. Players can earn their entry through participation in the festival’s tournaments. Play at least 30 Summer Festival tournaments or spend at least $500 in tournament entries to get a seat.

Festival Freeroll Starting Stacks & Additional Chips

Players will start the the freeroll with variable chips, depending on how many events they played/how much they spent on tournament entries, as follows:

Bronze: 30-59 entries or $500-$1,999 spent - 5,000 chips

Silver: 60-99 entries or $2,000-$4,999 spent - 10,000 chips

Gold: 100+ entries or $5,000+ spent - 15,000 chips

Earn up to 4,000 extra chips by playing PLO cash games ($0.10/$0.20) during the festival

Freeroll Prizes

The top prize in the freeroll is a $12,400 package to the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December. Other prizes include MTT tickets for the WPT Global Fall Festival.

WPT Summer Festival Champions Freeroll

Winners of any Summer Festival tournament will qualify for the Champions Freeroll, which will take place on August 25. This event features a $25,000 prize pool, awarded as MTT tickets for the WPT Global Fall Festival. Players start with 5,000 chips per tournament win during the festival, win, with no upper limit.
