Latin American Poker Tour 2024 Schedule Announced
Five LAPT festivals in 2024 in Panama, Mexico, Brazil (x2) and Uruguay
Joint event with BSOP Millions included

The 2024 season of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) has now been released. The tour, which has been in existence since 2014 is one of the premier poker Tours in South America. It is owned and managed by the PokerStars live events team, which also runs exclusive online satellites to the LAPT main event.

The 2024 season includes five stops, however unlike the other major PokerStars tour the EPT, the LAPT 2024 calendar is not a carbon copy of 2023. It includes festivals in Panama, Mexico, Brazil (twice) and Uruguay.

LAPT Panama Key Events

The first event of the season is in Panama, at the Hotel el Panama by Faranda Grand, taking place from 19-23 April, with a $1,500 main event.

Although the full schedule is not yet available, details of the main event and other key tournaments at the festival have been released and will include no less than three $3,000 high rollers, two of which are billed as single day tournaments, one vanilla the other a PKO (progressive knock out).

Perhaps the most anticipated event on the schedule is the $1,000 Mystery Bounty tournament. This format has been taking the poker world by storm in the last couple of years, with most live event operators now including the format in their schedules.

The next stop after Panama will be in Mexico in August, but that is all the info that has been revealed at this stage. Hopefully it will be early in the month, as EPT Barcelona takes centre stage from August 26th onwards and many players would not want to have to make a choice between the two events.

After that the focus of the tour move south with an event in Rio de Janeiro in October. As per previous seasons of the LAPT, the tour also links up with the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) for a joint event in Sao Paulo in November before the final event of the season in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo.

Qualify Online at PokerStars

As always, players can qualify for the main events of each stop at PokerStars, where there will be qualifying satellites for each event running for approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the start of each festival. Players can also qualify all-year round via the sites innovative Power Path promotion, which gives winning players the flexibility to choose the event they wish to play in.

PokerStars used to be one of the main sites to qualify for the WSOP, with 2003 and 2004 champions Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer both winning their seats there in the years they won the main event.

However WSOP satellites for players outside the US are now the sole reserve of GG Poker, who have yet to announce their qualifying path for this year’s series, but have already boldly stated that they are aiming for in excess of 1,000 qualifiers this time round, having produced 774 in 2023.
