Chris Moneymaker's superb 2024 continues with victory in the Enjoy Poker Tour Main Event

When most people hear the name Chris Moneymaker, they think of the young recreational player who defied the odds at the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event, bluffing his way past Sami Farha to take the title, just as internet poker was beginning to boom.

Moneymaker went on to be an ambassador and Team Pro player for PokerStars for 17 years, but more recently he has become the face of another online poker site, ACR.

This new role seems to have given Chris a new lease of life at the poker tables, where he has enjoyed success both live and online during 2024.

Not only has Chris had success at the tables, but his live Moneymaker Tour has been growing into a strong live poker brand and his sponsors have even named an online tournament after him.

Moneymaker Wins Enjoy Poker Series Main Event

Over twenty years after his WSOP success, Chris Moneymaker is continuing to make headlines for his success at the tables. Most recently, he has won the Main Event of the Enjoy Poker Tour, held in Punta del Este, Uruguay for $179,770.

The event had been supported by Moneymaker’s sponsor ACR Poker, who ran online satellites to the tour’s $1,650 Main Event. It was probably part of the deal that Chris would attend the event, but he did more than that, he walked away with the trophy and the lion’s share of the prize pool.

The main event, held at the luxurious Enjoy Resort, had a very respectable 657 entries. Chris went into the final sixth in chips and steadily put himself in contention and by the time he got heads up with Francisco Benitez, he had already assumed the chip lead.

He soon extended his lead and took down the title holding K5, dominating his South American opponent’s 95.

Moneymaker was not the only ACR Poker Team Pro in attendance and the event’s High Roller was won by fellow ambassador Jeff Boski, who booked his biggest ever live score with a $131,000 payday.

Chris MoneyMaker’s 2024 Poker Achievements

He now has three very significant results already in 2024 and we are excited to see what else he can achieve before the end of the year.

1. 6th in the $12.5m Venom at ACR Poker

His first key result of the year came online, with a deep run in ACR’s flagship Venom Tournament at the beginning of May, when he picked up $382,007 for a sixth place finish in the $12.5m guaranteed event.

The Venom is now back at ACR with a special Two Venoms edition, with am $8m NLH version running side by side with a $2m PLO edition, a first for the site. The first starting day took place on August 4th and further opening flights are running throughout the month on ACR Poker.

2. 1st place in the GGMillions Live at Triton Montenegro

It was not long after this that Chris jetted off to Montenegro to take part in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, where he made two final tables. He took down the title and $903,000 when winning the $25k GGMillion$ event, which had 163 entries.

3. 3rd place in the $40k Mystery Bounty at Triton Montenegro

A few days later he made the final in the $40,000 Mystery Bounty, finishing third for $311,000.

4. 1st place n the Enjoy Poker Tour Main Event in Punta del Este, Uruguay

This victory in the Enjoy Poker Tour is his second major win of the year and in such fine form, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go deep again in the coming months.

ACR’s Sunday MoneyMaker Named in Chris’s Honour

Not only is Moneymaker making money on the tables, he’s also getting tournaments named after him. His sponsor ACR Poker recently renamed one of their flagship Sunday tournaments in his honor, the Sunday Moneymaker.

The Sunday Moneymaker has a $109 buy-in and a $300,000 guarantee, except on the final Sunday of the month, when they bump it up to $500,000. Satellites run throughout the week for a cheaper way in. The tournament begins at 1.05 pm (ET).
