Asian Poker Tour announces APT Taipei first event of 2024
Festival to be held in two venues in central Taipei
Festival runs from 28 February to March 10
Biggest ever main event guarantee ($2m)

The Natural8 sponsored Asian Poker Tour has announced its first event for 2024, APT Taipei, which will run from February 28 - March 10. The 12-day festival in the Taiwanese capital features a $2m (TWD 65m) guarantee on the $2,200 (TWD 70,000) ATP Main Event, which is the largest ever guarantee set by the tour.

APT Dragon Breathes Fire Once Again

It is expected to be the first of several ATP events in 2024, intended to get the tour off to a roaring start in this Year of the Dragon. Further details about the rest of the schedule are yet to be released, however ATP President Neil Johnson teased:

“The Main Event is just the first of several exciting announcements for APT Taipei 2024. We made history here last year and we are optimistic that we will break those records once again."

A Tale of Two Venues

One unusual thing about the event is that it will be staged in two separate venues, which are 1.7km apart. It will be held jointly in the CTP Asia Poker Arena (Asia's largest poker room) and the CML (Chinese Mahjong League), both located in central Taipei. No details have been announced yet about how this will work, but this should become apparent once the full festival schedule and other tidbits that Johnson alluded to are revealed.
