Jared Bleznick Hits A Brutal Bad Beat On Season 14 Of High Stakes Poker

The premiere episode of High Stakes Poker Season 14 delivered a series of intense hands with Jared Bleznick losing $450,000 in a brutal bad beat.
Jared Bleznick, an established name in the poker world, was one of seven players at the $200/$400 No Limit Hold'em cash game table, which aired on Monday night on PokerGO. Despite an early win with pocket aces that doubled his stack, his session concluded with an unfortunate bad beat.
Joining Bleznick in the game were Seth Gottlieb, Brandon Steven, Andrew Robl, Justin Gavri, Marc Kulick, and Markus Gonsalves. All seven players made notable contributions during the episode, which showcased several dramatic hands. The stack sizes at the start of play varied, with Bleznick entering the game in a strong position.
Bad Beat
The largest pot of the episode occurred during the final hand of the night. Action began with Marc Kulick raising to $2,200 from late position while holding A♦Q♠. Bleznick, seated on the button, responded by three-betting to $6,000 with K♣Q♣. Kulick called, setting the stage for a showdown.
Kulick dropped a $2,500 bet in the dark. The community cards came 10♦9♣J♥, giving Bleznick the best possible hand—a king-high straight. He raised Kulick’s bet to $10,000, which Kulick quickly called while holding an open-ended straight draw.
The turn brought the 7♦, which did not alter the standings of the hand. Bleznick maintained his lead with the nut straight, while Kulick continued to chase a lower straight. Kulick checked, and Bleznick bet $25,000, which Kulick called again.
The river card, the K♠, completed Kulick’s Ace-high straight, which was better than Bleznick’s hand. Kulick opted for a check, likely hoping to lure Bleznick into betting. Bleznick, believing he still had the best hand, wagered $50,000. This gave Kulick the chance to move all in for $183,000 total.
Bleznick hesitated before making the call, seemingly sensing the possibility that his hand was beaten. However, he ultimately decided against folding. Kulick revealed the winning hand, claiming the $450,400 pot and closing Episode 1 with the most significant win of the evening.
A Tough Start to the Season
The hand capped off a dramatic episode that highlighted the unpredictable nature of high-stakes poker. For Bleznick, the evening began with promise but ended in disappointment as Kulick capitalised on the river card to secure the massive pot.
